Ron "Jawbone" Jordan, Jacksonville, Florida, lead guitarist. Ron's "Chuck Berry style" of guitar and his smooth vocals established the direction of the band from the beginning. After leaving the group in the early 60's, Ron spent time in France with the Air Force, and then settled down in the Tacoma-Seattle area, where he played jazz guitar with some of the premier jazz groups in the Seattle area, and during those years was heavily influenced by George Benson (Masquerade).
Bob Story, Madison, Wisconsin, drummer. Bob grew up in a family with a show business background. His grandmother played piano for the major silent movie theaters in Chicago, and his Dad and his Dad's sister tap-danced at the Chicago Theater. So when the opportunity presented itself to help form a rock band during the infancy of Rock and Roll, he jumped at the chance.

Jerry Jordan, Littleton, Colorado, bassist. One of the hallmarks of the music of the Rock-Its, and later Ron Jordan and the Volcanoes, was the hard driving, throbbing bass of Jerry Jordan. Many of the songs written for the group, including "Midnight Rumble" and "Rock Indigo", featured the bass line because of Jerry's domination of the instrument. After leaving the group, Jerry and his family moved to Colorado where he taught history.
Bill "Flick" Flikemma, Clinton, Iowa, rhythm guitarist. Imagine the strumming style of Phil Everly and the stage presence of Joe Bonsall of the Oak Ridge Boys, and you have Mr. Personality of the Volcanoes. In fact, Flick appears in solo on one Volcanoes album, vocalizing his enthusiasm about a certain cut seconds after the song was supposed to have ended. The producer liked his "yelp of satisfaction" so much he left it in. After the group disbanded, Bill continued to play in various bands, and continues to do so today.
