With the local popularity of the band fomented by the release of hot single, "By My Side" music stores were requesting appearances to sign autographs and peddle their records. One such music store was really just a shelf in the back corner of an appliance dealer in DeWitt, Iowa. Saturday night in DeWitt was always crowded when the rural folk came to town to do their shopping. So when they saw us big city musicians in there, all dressed alike and hanging around the record shelf, they just didn't know what to think. We didn't do much business that night, but it didn't matter. We were flyin' high with our new-found fame!
